James Ford Obituary

James Morton Ford James Morton Ford, 85, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born on June 19, 1927, in Brightwood, son of the late William Beverly Ford and Peoria Ann Weaver Ford and husband of the late Marion Maxine Shepherd Ford. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Ford Teates; and six brothers, Delmar, Burnett, Thomas, Herbert, Irvin, and Wallace Ford. Mr. Ford was a retired time keeper for VDOT in Madison. He was a member of the Robinson River Primitive Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. Jimmy was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching football, basketball and baseball, especially all Washington teams and collected coins and arrowheads. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Ford Garrison of Madison; a son, Anthony Jay Ford and wife, Janet, of Madison; a sister, Vera Ford Stephens and husband, Joseph, of Culpeper; two granddaughters, Erica Lynn Garrison and Nichole Lea Garrison, both of Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wanted to thank his special care givers, Betty S. Utz, Aubrey and Katherine Shepherd, and Mary Carter. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, with interment in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Oak Park, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to BEA Ministries c/o COMEV-New Store, P.O.
