Rex Sonner Carson, age 92, longtime Logan farmer passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012, at Westmont Care in Logan, Iowa.
Rex was born November 9, 1919, in Logan, to Edgar and Grace Sonner Carson and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Rex was a lifetime member of the Logan VFW and member of the Logan-Magnolia United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marshall Carson; and wife, J. Wanda, on June 11, 2005.
Survivors include daughter, Virginia Luna and husband, Michael, of Council Bluffs; son, Randy Carson and wife, Margaret, of Cave Creek, Ariz.; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gwen Carson, of Omaha, Neb.; nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation with the family Friday, 11 a.m. to 12 noon, at Logan Memorial Chapel, Logan Iowa. Graveside services 12:30 p.m., at Linnwood Cemetery, north of Beebeetown, on L-34. Pastor Patty Ford, Logan-Magnolia United Methodist Church, Officiant. Military rites at grave by VFW Post # 6256 and O'Hara Seeley Post. Family will direct memorials.
