LEATHERMAN, William Jacob III, 68, of Richmond, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 from a stroke. Bill served seven and a half years in the U.S. Navy and 17 years in the Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant, where he was a radio repairman and did installations in the jets. He received three college degrees, he was supervisor of the libraries in Prince George, Claremont and Surrey, and taught schools in Hopewell for four years. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Page Leatherman; his mother, Mary Leatherman; sister, Suzy Leatherman; and brother, Marlin Leatherman. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where a service will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Interment Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association. Bill said goodbye to his friends and buddies in the Navy and the Air National Guard as he took his final trip on the ship to be with his Lord.
