September 02, 2015 "May god bless you and your family in this time of sorrow from your Jones family in Albany GA" - mike jones (Albany, GA)
September 02, 2015 "My condolences goes out to the Dawkins family. One of my biggest dreams ever in life was to meet the World's Greatest Slam Dunk Master, Mr. Darryl Dawkins. I didn't get that chance, but I want you to know that I have been following your career, and would not hear anybody say anything else but Darryl Dawkins, is the best slam dunk player that they have ever seen. I feel so bad that it had to end, but I feel that you were a very well grounded and respectable person, I love you, and will still be one of your biggest fans always.
Victoria Mason, Charlotte, nc"
September 02, 2015 "Darryl, you were truly the Pride and Joy of everyone in West Orlando and the classmates of Carver Jr. High and Maynard Evans High School. I still can remember all of us in Malibu Grove and Ivey Gardens waiting in the morning for the School Bus on Fanfair. We would laugh all the way to School because of your jokes, Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence did not have nothing on you. You would have our sides hurting by the time we got to School. Those were the Days! I thank God for letting our paths cross in Life and thank you for the memories! I can say with out a doubt that you are a Legend and a Folk Hero to all of West Orlando! Rest in Peace!" - Colvin Fillmore (Norfolk, VA)
September 02, 2015 "Condolences to the Dawkins family. I was fortunate to meet this gentle giant at LCCC when my daughter attended a basketball camp. He was a wonderful man who loved life. He will be sorely missed by all . RIP Chocolate Thunder!" - Linda Lakatosh (slatington, PA)
September 02, 2015 "My prayers go out to the Dawkins Family; I never got to meet Darryl personally, but followed his career. His gift to me was seeing a person living his dreams, having a kind heart, living a clean life the way he wanted too on & off the court. There will be backboards shattering in the heavens now RIP Chocolate Thunder.
