Albert Hassler Al Hassler died peacefully in his sleep May 1 at the age of 86 from a series of strokes. He had a good life. He left high school at 15 to try to join the Navy during the second World War. He was caught twice trying to lie about his age but was able to enter the Navy on his seventeenth birthday.
