Remembering the life, death and legacy of poet Daniel Berrigan
The Rev. Daniel Berrigan, the Jesuit priest who helped shape the course of the anti-war movement during the Vietnam era, died peacefully April 30 after a long illness, The Associated Press and The New York Times reported. He was 94.
Born May 29, 1921, in Virginia, Minnesota, Berrigan earned a bachelor’s degree in 1946 from St. Andrew-on-Hudson, a Jesuit seminary in Hyde Park, New York. In 1952, he received a master’s degree from Woodstock College in Baltimore, Maryland, and was ordained...
