Grover Calvin Hockett Obituary

Grover Calvin Hockett Grover Calvin Hockett, 73, of Louisa, died on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was born on October 30, 1939, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Clue Adley Hockett and Virginia Downs Hockett.

Mr. Hockett was a retired police officer in Washington, D.C. and he served his country in the United States Army. He was currently working at Gordonsville Antiques. Mr. Hockett is survived by his wife, Laura Hockett of Louisa; one daughter, Sonya Dickinson and her husband, Wade, of Louisa; two sons, Mike Hockett of Hamilton, Virginia, and Tim Hockett of Lovettsville, Virginia; one brother, Hencil Hockett and wife, Elaine, of Culpeper; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2012, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the funeral home.
