O. E. GREENE Obituary

GREENE, O.E. "Buster," 78, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anna "Lady" Greene. He is survived by his daughter, Mildred G. "Beppie" Zuban (George); son, Robert E. "Reg" Greene (Carrol); granddaughter, Ashley Rogers (Matt); grandson, G. W. Zuban Jr. (Devon); and great-grandson, Landon Rogers. Buster served as a Chesterfield County Police Officer from October 1956 to October 1992, during which he served in the patrol division as Sergeant of Detectives and Lieutenant of Forensics. He was a life member of Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad, past president and treasurer for many years. Equally active in the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads (VAVRS), he served as District III Program chairman and vice president; VAVRS secretary, vice president and president. He served as seminar chairman and Sergeant-at-Arms at the annual VAVRS Convention and as vice chairman of the Virginia EMS Advisory Council. In 2005, he was inducted into the VAVRS Hall of Fame and is a VAVRS Life Member. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 19600 Halloway Ave., S. Chesterfield, Va. 23803.
