Jeanne Kreiser BeVier Obituary

BeVier, Jeanne Kreiser Passed away on July 5, 2013, after an active life full of family and personal pursuits. Jeanne was born in Minneapolis on September 30, 1918. She attended North Dakota State University for one year and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Jeanne married Albert Charles BeVier, Jr. in 1941. In 1963 Al passed away. Jeanne returned to college and in 1968 received her B.A. degree in English, together with a Secondary School Teaching Certificate, from Huntington College in Indiana. From 1969 to 1973, Jeanne served as a social worker in the public schools of Gary, Indiana. In 1973 she received her M.S. degree in Education from Purdue University in Counseling and College Personnel. In 1974, Jeanne returned to Edina, Minnesota. She worked for Aetna Life insurance Company in sales, was a branch office sales manager for Frank Kreiser Real Estate and later joined Northside Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. where she was involved in the Northside Owner Built Program and served as a loan officer. Jeanne was an avid reader, was a member of the Jane Austen Society, loved new ideas and good conversation, enjoyed travel, adored her family and was active in the Christian Science Church for many years. She was an enthusiastic and life-long student and always looked for ways to enrich her learning. Following retirement, Jeanne completed the Art Adventure Guide Training Program at The Minneapolis Institute of Arts and served as a docent for groups of school children. Jeanne's family includes her daughter, Margo BeVier Stern; her son, Michael J. BeVier and his wife, Lillian R. BeVier; her son, Albert C. BeVier, III and his former wife, Thern Anderson; her grandchildren, David and Aaron Stern, Samuel BeVier, Miranda BeVier, Eric and Nicholas Altree; her great-grandchildren, Sophie and Noah Stern, Grace and Nicholas Altree and Lily and Douglas Altree; her sister, Marjorie Doughten; her brother, Frank D. Kreiser and his wife, Patricia J. Kreiser; and her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank those caregivers at The Willows in Edina who provided loving care to Jeanne in recent months: Angela Poole, Molly Copeland, Jenell Smith, Stephanie Lewis, Rita Mulloy, Susan Peak, Charnea Mobley, Shelley Giemza, Katie Jaeger, Tiara Jackson, Patrick Cascino, Jamie Graffunder, Ashley Mayfield, Fikirte Birri, William Lindberg, and Mentor Toweh. The family also appreciates the care received by Jeanne from Fairview Hospice. A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held on August 17, 2013 at 12:00 PM, at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel at 3600 Hennepin Avenue S., Minneapolis. Remembrances of Jeanne BeVier may be sent to Third Church of Christ Scientist, 4147 Xerxes Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55410; Fairview Hospice, 2450 26th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55406; and the Salvation Army.
