Inez (Maggard) Dobbs December 12, 1924 - October 19, 2012 Inez was born to William Elbert and Rugie (Still) Maggard in Vian, Oklahoma on her mother's Cherokee Indian property, and went to be with our Lord Jesus on October 19, 2012. She went to several schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Claremore High School in 1942. Then moved to Bakersfield, CA, meeting the love of her life, Lloyd Dobbs. They were engaged while he was serving the Army of II World War. He was wounded while serving and received a purple heart. During war she worked for the Telephone & Telegraph Co. These were hard economic times after The Great Depression, but it didn't bother her, she bought a fur coat! After 24 years of marriage and having 2 daughters, Lloyd passed away with a brain tumor. Inez went to work for Kern County Human Services for 17 years and moved to Lake Isabella, California, living in the home of her daughter, Shiela and son- in-law Ray McFarland. She loved to play Yahtzee with others and Grandson Mark got her a battery operated Yahtzee game so she could spend hours playing by herself. She loved watching baseball and basket ball on T.V. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Mt. Mesa, California where she had many friends. Preceding in death were her mother and father, her sister Clara and brother-in-law Joe Borich, her brother, Bill Maggard. Inez is survived by her sister-in-law, Neta Maggard, her daughter, Shiela McFarland, another daughter Patti Finch, son-in-law Gary Finch, 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Thursday, October 25th, 3:00 to 7:00pm at Hillcrest Mortuary. On Friday, October 26th, doors open at 9:30am for viewing. At 10:00 am in Chapel will be small service, then we will have a graveside service. Following grave service, those who wish will be caravaning up the Kern Canyon, 178 to have the Memorial Service at Christian Assembly Church in Mt Mesa, 6 miles past Lake Isabella, then afterwards food will be served in the Church's rec. room.
