BAKER, Linwood Raymond "Buddy," 82, of Elko, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart decorated Marine in the Korean War. Buddy retired with 25 years of service with the Henrico County Police Department. He worked as a handyman and builder in his retirement. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Elizabeth Baker; children, Curt Baker, Bonnie Leffingwell (Jay), Terry Abbott (Charlie) and Linda Sweeney (Ahmad); stepchildren, Sebrina and Oswaldo Alfonso; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother, Bobby; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margaret and Raymond Baker; brother, Sonny Baker; and loving wife of 44 years, Gladys "Micky" Baker. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, Va.
