"This gent was class...when the Spinners came to Baltimore I recall Bobbie Smith having a friendly smile and greeting, sincere. How many members of the early group endured into the 70's? -- Henry, Pervis and Billie? One of their first tunes gave me the blues to go along with my Dear John letter...signed "red balloons and cotton candy, Kim"...yes, "Truly Yours." But that's what great tunes are, signs along our life path...and Bobbie Smith and the group had a bunch of splendid music that did just that..may I offer my condolances and peace to the family. And thank you Bobbie Smith...you made a difference to many of us, either in the boonies of Nam or later on the dance floor."
