Charles William Emarine Sr. Obituary


Charles William "Bill" Emarine, Sr., age 98, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013.

Bill was born on May 23, 1915, in Omaha, Neb. He earned an engineering degree from Iowa State University. Mr. Emarine married Miriam "Micky" Hislop on September 20, 1941. He was the President and Owner of Emarine's, Inc. in Council Bluffs, for 36 years before his retirement in 1977. Bill enjoyed reading, music, playing piano, flying, poetry, and painting in oil and watercolors. He was a Past President of the Council Bluffs Rotary Club, a member of the Sky High Flying Club, the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce, and the Elks Country Club at Lake Manawa in Council Bluffs. Mr. Emarine attended the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by sons, Charles William Emarine, Jr., M.D, of San Diego, Calif., Richard David Emarine, of Dillon, Colo.; daughter, Judith Lynn Marin, of Escondido, Calif.; and grandchildren, Carrie Megan Emarine, of Mancos, Colo., Chad Morgan Emarine, of San Diego, and Adam Charles Emarine, of Dillon.

At the request of the family a private inurnment will be held at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bill's name to either the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, the American Lung Association, www. lung.org, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, www. woundedwarriorproject.org.
