"I was so shocked and saddened when I first heard of Lesley's passing...I have been a fan since I first heard her song played on the radio back in the early 60's...Know the words to all of her songs...One of my favorites was "Look of Love"...Was a member of her fan club and yahoo group...Have her box set along with "records" in my jukebox and played them that evening in honor of her along with watching the T.A.M.I. ...Seeing her perform in that show once again brought back the reality of how amazing and beautiful she was...I saw her perform live several times; had a brief conversation along with getting her autograph...When I heard that she had died from lung cancer, my heart went out even more to her and her loved ones and what they had just gone through...I had lost my sister to lung cancer in 2011 and have since volunteered in memory of her to raise funds for research to help find a cure...I will now include Lesley's memory...her voice is now silent...but will always be alive through her music...may you RIP!

"My deepest sympathy to Lois and the family. Hearing of Lesley's passing was a shock to the heart. I write this with tears in my eyes. It is such a sad time for us all. She left us too young. She was so vibrant and vital. Our generation has lost an iconic, legendary lady of rock and roll, from one of the most eclectic, musically creative eras of the last sixty years. We embraced her because we grew up with her. She was one of us. When this adorable talented young singer came into our living rooms, courtesy the Ed Sullivan show we were hooked forever! She was polished, professional and so beautiful. I wanted to be just like her. She was my hero(still is). Her songs became part of the soundtrack of our lives. I've never stopped listening to her songs. They just never get old. Over the decades she reinvented herself and reinterpreted her songs in a new and fresh way. I loved her newer songs as well. Luckily, I was able to see her in a show several years ago and she was even more beautiful in person. She delighted the audience with her powerful, passionate voice. We were under her spell. As a mature woman her voice had a more sultry, soulful quality that gave a fresh feel to her most enduring classics. After the show I had the opportunity to meet her. She took my hand and I saw this lovely woman with gorgeous eyes and smile to match. She was so warm and friendly. I knew I was in the presence of someone very special. Those few minutes of contact cemented my admiration for her not only as a gifted performer but as a classy, intelligent, articulate, courageous woman who was passionate about what she believed in. To sum up my experience, I came away thinking; Lesley Gore is a real sweetheart! She was unique, irreplaceable and like a delicate flower or exotic butterfly; rare, precious and beautiful. We will never see the likes of her again. We fans carried on a 50 plus year love affair with her. She sang from her heart and we gave her our hearts. Our hearts are broken now. If there is a rock and roll heaven Lesley joined an incredible line up of musical stars who have left us way too soon. To keep her alive in our memories we can listen to her incredible, distinctive voice. Thanks to YouTube we can watch a performance or interview and fall in love with her all over again. Farewell Songbird you belong to the ages now. RIP dear lady. You left us with an incredible legacy. Thanks for bringing joy into our lives. You are missed! Lois, you and Lesley were blessed to have found each other. A love that endures is so rare and you had that love. I hope all the great memories you shared with Lesley and the support of friends and family will sustain you through this sad time."
