Agnes Nixon, the creator of “All My Children” and “One Life To Live,” died Sept. 28, 2016, according to multiple news sources. She was 93.

TMZ reported that she had Parkinson's disease.

The soap opera producer and writer was considered a pioneer for women in television. Nixon inserted real-world issues into her shows.

Nixon, along with Irna Phillips, also was co-creator of the long-running CBS soap opera “As the World Turns.”

Nixon, who was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Chicago, graduated from Northwestern University. She got her start as a writer on the radio soap opera “Women in White.”

“All My Children” was ahead of its time in addressing issues such as the antiwar movement. The show also had the character Erica Kane undergo a legal abortion in 1971.

Nixon, who won five Daytime Emmys and five Writers Guild awards, was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2010.

"I am devastated to learn that we have lost Agnes,” said actress Susan Lucci in a news statement. Lucci starred on “All My Children” as Erica Kane. “I adored her and admired her and I am forever grateful to her! May this liveliest and loveliest of women rest in peace."
