DALTON, Henry "Maynard," 75, of Richmond, Retired Teacher from Hermitage High School. His once free spirit is free again! He passed peacefully in his sleep on February 14, 2013, at his son's home in Moyock, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lacy and Tena Blanks Dalton of Red Oak, Va.; and two brothers, Bobbie Rae and Lacy Gene Dalton, both of Skipwith, Va. He is survived by his three children, Bradley (Lynda) of Moyock, N.C., Leslie Snyder of Virginia Beach, Va., and Brentley (Donetta) of Matoaca, Va.; four grandchildren, Brandon, Evan, Ashley and Lacey; two siblings, Nell Smith (Bill) of Colonial Heights, Va., and Jerry Dalton (Diana) of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Doris and Phyllis Dalton both of Skipwith, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond. "Mr. Dalton" retired after years of teaching at Hermitage High School, enjoyed playing Bridge with the "Bridge Ladies," snow skiing with the Richmond Ski Club, dancing, and socializing with friends. He especially enjoyed his volunteer work as a ski coach with the Virginia Special Olympics. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 8708 Trottinridge Rd., Skipwith, Va. 23968. Visitation with the family will immediately follow in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Virginia Special Olympics at www.specialolympicsva.org
