Betty May Bowen Obituary

Betty May Bowen Betty May Bowen was born in White Horse, New Jersey, on March 26, 1925, and passed away peacefully at home in Gahanna, Ohio, after a brief illness, at the age of 87, on Friday, January 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milford E. Bowen; by her brother, Harold Girth; and her parents, Edward W. and Bessie S. Girth. She is survived in life by her three daughters, Nancy Burton of Charlottesville, Virginia, Lynn Adelman of Gahanna, Ohio, and Ruth Guarini of St. Charles, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was an elementary school teacher for many years and served in Christian ministry for her entire adult life. She continued publishing a monthly inspirational Biblical paper online and for a mailing list until her final days. She lived with love, integrity and generosity and will be missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Bible Study Center, 95 Deerwood Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22911 at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013. She will be buried beside her husband at Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville.
