HOPKINS, Robert Lee Jr., of Ashland, Va., husband of Louise Gilliam Hopkins, died November 10, 2012. He is survived by their daughter, Louise Fontaine Hopkins and her fiancÂ‚, Steven L. Crain; and their son, Robert Lee Hopkins III. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Hopkins, he was born and reared in Alexandria, La. and graduated from Washington & Lee University with a BA degree and from Tulane University with a MBA degree. From 1951 to 1953, he served as a supply and disbursing officer during the Korean War and remained in the U.S. Naval Reserve, retiring in 1971. Mr. Hopkins worked for Colonial Williamsburg and was Business Manager of Chatham Hall from 1961-1968. He was appointed registrar of Randolph-Macon College in 1968, retiring in 1995. A member of St. James The Less Episcopal Church, he was active in the parish as vestry member, Junior and Senior Wardens and in Region XI and the
Diocese of Virginia. A memorial service will be held at St. James The Less Episcopal Church at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, November 14, 2012, and burial will be in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington, Va. Memorial donations may be made to St. James the Less Episcopal Church, 125 Beverly Road, Ashland, Va. 23005 or to Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Va. 24450.
