UF Memorial Site: Notable Deaths & Obituaries

Founded in 1853, the University of Florida is now home to more than 50,000 students. UF boasts 17 academic colleges, more than 150 research centers and institutes, and has been ranked among the top ten athletic programs in the country in each of the last 27 years. This memorial site was created to pay tribute to all the Gators who've made the University of Florida what it is today.

John L. Rocker, Jr., 89, of Clermont, FL passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. John was born on January 7, 1927 in Atlanta, GA, son of John L. and Bernice (nee Parker) Rocker, Sr.. He served in the U.S. Army and then graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Agriculture.
