Founded in 1853, the University of Florida is now home to more than 50,000 students. UF boasts 17 academic colleges, more than 150 research centers and institutes, and has been ranked among the top ten athletic programs in the country in each of the last 27 years. This memorial site was created to pay tribute to all the Gators who've made the University of Florida what it is today.

William Earl "Bill" Snyder, 92, of Palatka, passed from this life unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home from natural causes. He was born in Kissimmee, Florida, to Frank Snyder, a pioneering pilot and Hazel Bass Snyder. Bill joined the U.S. Army in July 1943 at the age of 18 and fought in World War II as part of the Keystone Division.
