Edward Taylor Obituary

Edward M. Taylor Edward M. Taylor, 66, died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. His wife, Lynne; brother, Terry; sons, Benjamin and Patrick; and granddaughter, Collette, survive him. Dr. Taylor graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1971, after which he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. He was passionate about veterinary dentistry and evidence-based medicine; he strove to improve the health of as many animals as possible through teaching, publishing, and example. He established referral dental practices in the Atlanta and Charlottesville areas and provided pro bono dental care for jaguars and other animals at the Belize Zoo. Other interests included native plants, wildlife, music, running, scuba diving, photography, and travel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, the Wildlife Center of Virginia or the Belize Zoo.
