Vida, Evelyn N. Age 66, of Bloomington, passed away on October 25, 2013. A beloved mother, sister and grandmother, she embodied caring and kindness. She was a bright light that illuminated the best in each of us. Born in Bremen, Germany on July 26, 1947 to Joseph and Inge Vida. Raised in Macomb, IL and graduated from Macomb High School in 1962. Received her B.A. in journalism from the University of Illinois. Married Carl Meurn and moved to Mpls where she raised her sons, Aaron and Scott. Worked with Johnston Design Office, Pentair, and recently retired after 11 years of service as the Executive Director of the Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation. She also founded and operated Vida Writing where she provided freelance communications and writing consulting. Preceded in death by her parents. Survived by sons, Scott Meurn (Anne) and Aaron Meurn; sisters, Carol Wallen (Mike) and Mary Jo Fernandez (Ray); grandchildren, Bria and Hazel Meurn; nieces and nephews, Raymond Fernandez III and Joe, Zach and Katie Wallen; and numerous friends and family. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, November 9th at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. in Mpls, interment at Lakewood Garden Mausoleum, and a reception at the Calhoun Beach Club.
