
ABELL, Robert Marshall, 64, of Richmond, Virginia, died peacefully in his home on January 14, 2013. Bob was born and raised in Evanston, Illinois. A graduate of Evanston High School, Bob attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from University of Illinois (Circle). Bob spent most of his career as an account executive in several different advertising agencies, finishing with Leo Burnett. Moving to Richmond in 1996, Bob owned a franchise store and continued his career in marketing and sales. Bob was known for his quick wit, love of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, hockey and critters of all kinds, sense of humor (which stayed with him until the very end) and generosity of spirit. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Jan (nee Clapp); parents, Joseph and Shirley (nee Marshall); and sister, Nancy. He is survived by his loving wife, Luanne Abell; children, Kenneth (Mia DiBella) and Lisa (J.T. Allen); five grandchildren, Amelia, Katherine, Susannah, Samuel and Thomas; sister, Carolyn (Binny); nephew, Jeff; and niece, Lacey. Many dear friends from all over the country also survive.
