Betty Lou Gillman, age 83, passed away February 25, 2013.
She was born December 17, 1929, in Council Bluffs, to George Ferris Lacy and Laura (Hurd).
Betty is preceded in death by husband, Donald Gillman; and stepsons, Doug Gillman and Herb Gillman.
She is survived by daughter, Candee Schlautman; and son-in-law, Donald; grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and grand-dogger, Greta.
Betty was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and attended the University of Iowa. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty volunteered at Jennie Edmundson Hospital for 18 years and was a member of Council Bluffs Service League. Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed working in her yard, bowling, golfing, reading, traveling and her dogs.
Visitation with the family Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral services Thursday, 11 a.m., St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Father Glenn Rankin, Pastor, Officiant. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. Family will direct memorials.
