FOSTER, David Henry, 85, of Oxford, Md., died suddenly on June 15, 2013. He was born on July 15, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Edna and Wayne Foster. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and first in the 1952 law school class at the University of Iowa and served in the Navy at the end of WWII. During his professional career, Foster was president of the National Cable Television Assoc. and the Natural Gas Supply Assoc., both in D.C., and served as general counsel of Collins Radio, Dallas, Texas. Later in life, he pursued an amateur vocation in the theatre as actor, director, producer and teacher, as well as other activities and interests, too numerous to detail here. His large and caring family includes his wife, Fiona Foster; daughters, Kathleen Goodwin and husband, Barry, of Richmond, Va., Sarah Foster and her husband, Kevin Bice, of Austin, Texas; son, Robert Foster, who predeceased him; stepdaughters, Leslie Rush (Joaquin), Paige Swanson (Craig), Leigh Marquess, Gillian Husovsky (Peter); one grandson and eight stepgrandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 29, 11 a.m. at the Oxford Community Center, Oxford, Md. Contributions in his honor may be made to the scholarship fund of the Tred Avon Players, P.O. Box 444, Oxford, Md. 21654.
