Alice M. Kuutti Obituary

Kuutti, Alice M. Our dearest Mother, returned to our Lord on April 13, 2013. She was 95 years old. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid, & her parents, survived by her five daughters & their spouses: Myrna & Joel Hadrits, Madeleine & Edwin Wesala, Anita & Harry Murphy, Lisa & Keith Wendt, Victoria (widow of Rodney Snyder); many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins in America & Denmark. Alice was born in Denmark in 1917. At age 4 she emigrated from Denmark to America with her parents. First, they lived in South Dakota, & then later settled permanently in Minnesota. Alice attended the University of Minnesota where she met and married Arvid. They were married 71 years. Alice sang in church choirs, was active in Girl Scouts, played the violin, enjoyed gardening, reading, & travel. She loved snow skiing, ice skating, swimming, tennis and water skiing. Alice always loved being surrounded by her family, who adored her and will dearly miss her. Alice was very proud of her Danish heritage. When we left her, we would always say: "Vi elsker dig mor! (Danish: "We love you Mom"). A summer memorial gathering is being planned. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Girl Scouts of America.
