Arthur Lawrence "Larry" Kane Jr. Obituary

Kane, Arthur Lawrence, Jr. "Larry" of Wayzata, Minnesota. Born September 10, 1922, died July 26, 2013. Preceded in death by wife Connie, granddaughter Meghan Field, sisters Mary Fohrman and Evelyn Rainville and brother Joe. Survived by children Mary (Mark) Enger, Jane (Jim) Neyer, Gail Montana, Beth (Brian) Ripley, Anne Ramstad, Connie (Ron) McClurg, Lawrence Kane and Tony (Bridget) Kane, 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Eileen Oslund and Patricia Hovelsrud, brothers Jim and Owen Kane and many nieces, nephews and friends. Larry was born in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School. Larry was a Naval Aviator flying Corsairs off the U.S.S. Essex in WWII and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with one star. After the war, Larry obtained his degree from the University of Minnesota and continued to fly in the Navy Reserve for many years attaining the rank of Commander all while raising eight children and traveling the world with Connie, his wife of 50 years. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2385 Commerce Blvd., Mound (952-472-1284). Visitation will take place for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the Church. Interment with military honors at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Navy-Marine Corps.
