Drayton, Erika Mozangue 4/25/68 - 8/18/13 Assistant U.S Attorney for the District of Minnesota, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by father, Wayne Mozangue, grandparents, William and Catherine Brooks, grandmother, Hattie Kemp and uncle, Henry Kemp. Survived by husband, Marcus Drayton, step daughter, Christine Drayton, parents, Don and Viola Mills, siblings, LaVecchia Mozangue and Tramayne Mills, along with other family and friends. Erika joined the U.S. Attorney's Office in 2002. She worked in the Major Crimes Section of the Criminal Division until 2010, when she was promoted to Deputy Chief of the Civil Division. Prior to working for the U.S. Attorney's Office, she served as an Assistant Hennepin County Attorney from 1997 to 2002 and an Assistant Dakota County Attorney from 1993 to 1997. Erika was a 1990 graduate of the University of Minnesota and a 1993 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law. Erika was a talented lawyer and a truly beautiful person. We were blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her deeply. A celebration of Erika's life will be held at a later date.
