Gunderson, Keith R. age 78, of Minneapolis, passed away Oct. 14, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Luverne and Rose, and sister Janice. Professor of Philosophy at the University of Minnesota for 40 years, Keith earned BAs from Macalester College and Oxford University, where he played ice hockey, and a PhD in philosophy from Princeton. He is the author of Mentality and Machines, an early philosophical investigation of artificial intelligence and several books of poetry, including A Continual Interest in the Sun and Sea, Inland Missing the Sea, To See a Thing, and 3142 Lyndale Ave. So., Apt. 24. A philosopher, poet, and unrelenting lover of nature, Keith was especially kind to the littler creatures. Keith is survived by wife, Sandra Riekki; sons, Christopher (Jessica Klonsky), Jonathan (Catherine), and Nathaniel (Leah Lindeman); grandchildren, Lucy, Joey, Ella and Alice; and sisters Judy Gunderson-Blossom and Nancy Campbell of CA. He will be missed. Private memorial. Memorials preferred to Animal Humane Society.
