Marguerite Madelon "Pep" (Baker) Kelly Obituary


Kelly, Marguerite Madelon "Pep" (Baker) Age 86. Born in Seattle, WA, Dec. 26, 1926. Passed away Easter, March 31, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Floy Baker; son, Daniel Kevin Kelly. Survived by husband, J. Robert Kelly; daughters, Karen Kelly Bridston (Peter Bridston), Megan Sara Kelly (James Smart); grandson, John Kelly Smart "Jack" and cousin, Joan H. Kelly. Graduate of West High School-1945 and University of Minnesota-1948. She was given the nickname Peppy or Pep, by her father because of her energetic and fun loving spirit. When she was young, she was briefly a stewardess for Northwest Airlines which kindled a lifelong love of travel. She was appreciative of simple pleasures such as outings to Lake Harriet, viewing Christmas lights and watching her grandson participate in any activity. She also derived joy from gardens, classical music, and theatre. She was exceptionally loving, kind, compassionate and thoughtful. She cherished her many friends. She possessed an artistic flair for decorating, entertaining and was a superb cook. During the course of her lifetime, she volunteered for many causes, including assisting people with AIDS, Meals on Wheels and the Jaycees. She acted as a facilitator for the Grief Group at her church, Colonial. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Memorial service Thursday, April 11, 1:00 PM at Colonial Church, 6200 Colonial Way, Edina, MN. Memorials may be directed to mnaidsproject.org, fraser.org, or parkinson.org.
