Marilyn Crowley Brock Obituary

Brock, Marilyn Crowley age 86, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 2, 2013 in Walnut Creek, CA, where she had enjoyed her final years of life. Marilyn was born March 6, 1927 in Minneapolis. She graduated from West High in 1945, then spent several memorable years living in San Francisco during her twenties. She returned to Minneapolis and married Wayne Brock in 1956. Together they raised four children and enjoyed many great years in living in Edina. They spent seven wonderful winters in Naples, FL before settling at Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, CA, near San Francisco, where two of their children and their families live. Marilyn loved to travel and to read. She was a consummate hostess and a fabulous cook. She was an active member of the Needlers at Plymouth Congregational Church and enjoyed many years at the Minikahda and Edina Country Clubs. Marilyn also attended the University of Minnesota while in her fifties. She volunteered throughout her life, including a long stretch helping teach inner-city kids how to read. Marilyn was the portrait of grace throughout her long and happy life. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Wayne; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Barbara Brock Fazzone; her step-daughter, Laurie Robin; her sons, Steven and John; her daughters, Barbara and Marthe; a full set of wonderful sons- and daughters- in-law, and nine grandchildren who she loved. A memorial service for Marilyn will be held in the Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in remembrance of Marilyn may be made to Hospice of the Twin Cities.
