Dr. Michael Centrella Obituary


Centrella, Dr. Michael age 64, of Golden Valley, MN, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away of liver cancer on December 11, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents and brother. Survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Nina, and children, Louis (Julie), Michael (Sunny), Laura Greenwell (Patrick); two granddaughters, Lily and Ella; four siblings, and 13 nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School, Villanova University, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and University of Minnesota. He was board certified and practiced family medicine and psychiatry for 37 years. Dr. Centrella published articles in medical journals and textbooks. He enjoyed opera, classical music, traveling, the Italian language and the arts. He was most proud of his family. Mass of Christian Burial 12:30 PM Saturday, December 14, with visitation beginning 11:30 AM at the Basilica of Saint Mary, Hennepin Ave at 17th St., Mpls. Private interment.
