Morris Hoffman Obituary


Hoffman, Morris Age 91, of St. Louis Park, died on October 4, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Philip and Bessie Hoffman; wife, Joan; brothers, Nathan, John and Bill; sisters, Elizabeth Feinberg, Ann Solomon, Rose Levin and Dorothy Glickson. Morris was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He served with pride and honor with the 101st Airborne during World War II. Upon his return he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Masters in Library Science. He then began his professional career at the Naval Post- Graduate School in Monterey, CA. While there, he married and had three children. He later moved to Omaha, NE where he started with Northern Natural Gas and became Director of Information Services. After 25 years he retired to St. Louis Park, MN. Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Gerre; children, Paul (Sara), Rachel and David Hoffman; Barb Weidmann (Adrian), Nancy Newman (Mike), Robert Berman (Karen), Amy Berman (Richard); and ten wonderful grandchildren. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Colonial Acres and Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital Hospice for their kindness and respect. Funeral service SUNDAY, 12:00 Noon, BET SHALOM CONGREGATION, 13613 Orchard Road, Minnetonka. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to your favorite charity.
