Peterson, Nancy Louise age 66, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on August 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her mother Julia Peterson and her father Sigurd Peterson. Nancy Peterson was born in Minnapolis, MN. Nancy attended St. Phillip's Parochial School for grade school and St. Anthony of Padua for high school. She earned both her BA and M.Ed. from the University of Minnesota. She was employed as a special education pre-school teacher with Minneapolis Public Schools for 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Chester McCoy; daughters, Meghan Peterson-McCoy (Olmedo Nazati, Sr.) of Silver Spring, MD; Hannah Diop (Malick) New York, NY; grandchildren Esperanza and Olmedo Nazati Jr., Silver Spring, MD; her mother-in-law Bernice McCoy of St. Louis, MO; sisters Marlene Voita (Jim) of Afton, MN, Susan Zeni, and Gloria Peterson (Jim McCarthy) Minneapolis; sisters-in-law Toni Davenport and Monique Walker (Chris); brothers-in-law Michael McCoy; Stephen McCoy; and Joseph Davenport (Sheryl) all of St. Louis, MO; her home stay student Heyjin Im of Seoul South Korea, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; her golden- doodle Lydia, and her orange tabby Sonny. A memorial is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Minneapolis Friends Meeting, 4401 York Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Quaker Quest c/o Minneapolis Friends Meeting.
