Patricia Yvonne (Doran) Larson Obituary

Larson, Patricia Yvonne (Doran) age 76, of Longville, formerly of Blaine, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2013. Born April 3, 1937 in Thief River Falls she grew up in South St Paul where she graduated from South St Paul High School in 1955. She attended the University of Minnesota where she met her lifelong love, partner and best friend, Philip Larson. Married in June, 1958 they settled in Blaine where they raised their three sons. Patricia was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker focused on her family, her community and her church. She was an active member of the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church serving in various roles including 12 years as the Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Chair of the Vision 2020 campaign that resulted in a multimillionaire dollar building program. Moving to Longville, she served on the board of the Leech Lake Area Watershed Foundation from 1999 to 2011 and as board chair from 2003 to 2009. Under her leadership, many land conservation projects were accomplished to protect critical fish and wildlife habitats. Preceded in Death by her parents Clarence and Hermia Doran. Survived by loving husband Phil, sons Mike (Lynn), Matt (Catherine), and Tim (Renee), grandchildren Dan, Erika, Brett, Katie, Erik, Robert and Lauren, and great-grandson Gavin. Funeral service will be held on June 8 at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church, 10506 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Details will be available through Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd, MN. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Leech Lake Area Watershed Foundation.
