Olander, Paul W. Born April 29, 1931, passed away April 28, 2013 at Season's Hospice in Rochester, MN of a brain tumor. Paul attended St. Olaf College and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Business Administration in 1953. Paul's entire career was spent in the banking business, first as bank examiner with the FDIC and then as a manager of the Fargo office for the SBA. He served banks in Grand Forks, ND and Great Falls, MT as a vice president before returning to Grand Forks as the president of the Red River National Bank followed by a move to Rochester as president of First Bank in 1975. In 1982 he left the Rochester bank to establish his own bank consulting business which he was involved with until he retired in 2000. He was very active in community affairs in all the cities in which he lived. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; his son, Britt (Laura); his daughter, Andrea Baloga (David); six grandchildren, Kale, Lane and Tate Olander and Taylor, Maddie and Caroline Baloga; his sister, Ruth Stewart and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held 3 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochester, MN.
