Olson, Sharon Lou (Flynn) age 78, of Grand Rapids, MN, formerly of St. Louis Park, MN, passed peacefully on March 26, 2013. Sharon was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 6, 1935 to Clifford and Mae (Nelson) Flynn. She grew up in Kenwood, graduated from West High School, and attended the University of Minnesota, where she was on the synchronized swim team and St. Cloud College, where she pursued her teaching degree. Sharon taught physical education for 13 years at Most Holy Trinity in St. Louis Park and The Sacred Heart in Robinsdale, MN. Sharon enjoyed outdoor activities such as golf, x-country skiing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed painting. She played golf on two leagues; Blueberry Hills in Deer River as well as Pokegama in Grand Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Mae; and her sister, Patsy (Flynn) Drake. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Howard Herman Olson; her brother, James (Sterling) Flynn; three daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Gorman, Heidi (Nick) Forrette, and Lori (Roger) Burgess; four grandchildren, Craig and Katelyn Gorman, Scott and Thomas Burgess; and one great granddaughter, Kloe Gorman; along with cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Sharon's life will take place during the summer. Memorials are preferred to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in her loving memory.
