Sylvia Carol Ogren Obituary

Ogren, Sylvia Carol age 89 of Mound, died peacefully on the morning of July 4, 2013 at The Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska, MN. Sylvia's immediate survivors are a brother Kenneth E. Ogren of Sonoma County, California and a sister Ila M. Peterson of Minnetonka. She was a loving aunt to nephews Bill Ogren of Minneapolis and Jim Ogren of Everett, Washington and to nieces Jan Ogren of Sonoma County, California and to Diane Bazella of Minnetonka and her children Matthew and Kelly. She was predeceased by Douglas Peterson who was a father to Michael, Kathleen and Jessica. Sylvia was born on a farm in Meeker County, West of Minneapolis on September 23, 1923. Her parents were Emma and Levi F. Ogren. A graduate of the UofMN Home Economics Department, member of the Clovia Sorority, upon graduation she took a position with Pillsbury Company. Sylvia's major responsibilities was with the annual Pillsbury Bake Off competition. She became a consultant of Food Economics and Marketing. Sylvia became an active member of the Bethel Methodist Church in Mound. She was an active volunteer and member of the Auxiliary for the University of Minnesota Arboretum for more than 30 years. A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held in the Bethel Methodist Church in Mound, August 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. There will be visiting an hour before the service.
