Edwards, William Bernard 80 years of age, passed away on March 31, 2013 at his winter home in Florida. Bill was born on March 26, 1933 in Minneapolis Minnesota to Emil and Verena Edwards. Bill grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from West High School in Minneapolis in 1949. After high school he attended Drake University as well as the University of Minnesota where he received a law degree. He worked for the county attorney's office in Hennepin County for many years. Prior to law school Bill trained as a pilot with the class of 55-I and flew with the Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and retired from the Air National Guard as a Lt. Colonel. Bill married Phyllis Simonet in 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They were happily married for 53 years. After retirement Bill volunteered with many organizations. His most recent volunteering involved being part of the "Medical Profession" at Lee Memorial Hospital where he drove his golf cart transporting hospital visitors. He was also a Traveler Assistant during the summer at the Minneapolis St. Paul Airport where he enjoyed telling people where to go and they obeyed. Bill received an award for his service at the MSP airport. Bill enjoyed cruising the streets of Minneapolis on his moped, he loved to travel, was an excellent story teller, and loved his family. Bill Edwards is survived by his spouse Phyllis; his children Kim, Erik, and Scott (Karla); siblings Ann (John), Kathy, Bob (Pearl), Tom, and Don; grandchildren Ben (Katie), Jake, Erin, Sean, Zack, Chloe, Will, and Natalie and many, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. In Bill's own words, "He wasn't, he was, now he is no more."
