Kenneth Elwood Newell Obituary

MANCHESTER, NH --- Kenneth Elwood Newell, 85, passed away on June 11, 2104, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Herbert and Josephine (Rausch) of Manchester. Born and raised in Manchester, NH, Ken enjoyed 49 years of marriage to Gertrude (Lukasavi) Newell, who pre-deceased him in 2010. They enjoyed traveling and playing cribbage with their friends, Michael and Dorothy Welsh of Manchester. Ken was a graduate of Central High School Manchester and was a tire salesman for most of his life. He was a member of the Elks Post 146 for more than 40 years, and was past secretary and past trustee. Ken also served his country in the Air Force in the Korean War and was stationed at Grenier Field in Manchester?). Ken is survived by his son, David, his daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Hutchins), a granddaughter, Caroline, all of Goffstown; a brother, Herbert "Bert" Newell, Jr. of Bedford; two sisters, Beverly Gibson of Manchester and Bernice "Puppy" Ensminger of Salem, OR. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was pre-deceased by a brother, Norman "Zeke" Newell of Bedford. Calling hours followed by a Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, 9 a.m-11am with services at 11am at Durning, Bykowski and Young Funeral Home 285 Manchester St Manchester with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Elks Post 146 of Manchester.
