RAWLEY ARRINGTON Obituary


ARRINGTON, Rawley David, 71, of Victoria, Va., went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Bohannon Arrington; his son, David W. Arrington of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Beverly A. Guthrie (Joseph) of Mechanicsville, and Delores H. Manning (Todd) of Wake Forest, N.C.; grandchildren, Laura A. Guthrie, Vincent J. Guthrie and Ashleigh Arrington; his brother, Vernard E."Bunny" Arrington (Carol) of Bristol, Tenn.; and sister, Ruth Sharpe (Edward) of Victoria. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernard E. Arrington; his mother, Mildred Dickerson Arrington; his brother, Ralph E. Arrington; and his sister, Betty A. Clark. Rawley served his country in the U.S. Navy from March 1959 until March 1978, Retired Chief Petty Officer. He graduated from Southside Virginia Community College with an associate's degree in June 1982. He owned and operated The Country Fair in the Nutbush Community from 1977 to 1993. From 1981 until 1993, he worked as a rural mail carrier substitute, and then as a rural mail carrier from 1993 until May 2007. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Victoria Baptist Church, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, at 2:30 p.m. Please consider memorial donations to the Victoria Baptist Church, 1423 8th Street, Victoria, Va. 23974.
