Anderson, Robert J. Died March 31st at the age of 80, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by wife, Nancy of 57 years; his children, Kris (Shari) Anderson, Karin (John) Marshall and Kurt Anderson; granddaughters, Allison Marshall (Jason Kissell) and Anne Marshall. Bob was raised in Spring Valley MN. He graduated from the U of M and served in the Army Reserves retiring as Captain. In 1955 he began a 43 yr career at US Bank by repossessing cars and TVs. He worked his way up to Executive Vice President. Bob served on many boards including the Cricket Theatre and Abbott NW Hospital. He was appointed by Governor Perpich to serve on the MN Department of Energy and Economic Development Committee. More recently Bob was proud to have served on the Minneapolis DID Board and the Downtown Minneapolis 2025 Committee. He loved living downtown for the past 31 years, with all the arts and sporting events and his Loring Green community. He was instrumental in getting Lund's to build a store downtown. Bob was an avid golfer and member of The Minikahda Club and was a real connoisseur of food. He was an enthusiastic booster of Gopher sports and the Vikings. He traveled the world and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends. Bob was so proud of his family and most of all enjoyed spending time with them. In spite of his declining health, he organized a family trip to the Panama Canal and managed through sheer will and determination to enjoy his final days with his family and returning shortly before his death. He will always be lovingly remembered as Buppy, the name given to him by his granddaughter and adopted by the rest of his family. Celebration of his life will be on Saturday, April 6, 11 am at The Minikahda Club, 3205 Excelsior Blvd, Mpls.
