Robert W. Huss Obituary



Robert W. Huss, age 84, of Council Bluffs, passed away July 4, 2013, at Midlands Living Center.

Bob was born December 5, 1928, in Omaha, Neb., to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Schimonitz) Huss. He graduated St. Joseph High School, Omaha in 1949. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Jennie Obal on April 11, 1953. They were blessed with two daughters, Barbara and Cheryl. Bob retired from Firestone Tire Co. after 25 years of service. He was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Huss, in 2004; and six siblings.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Barb Evans, of Council Bluffs, Cheryl (Jeff) Longo, of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughters, Christi, Kellie, Corrie, Katie, Allie, Lauren; great granddaughters, Mickenzie, Jennessa and Sydney; nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Rosary, Monday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. Interment St. John's Cemetery in Omaha with military rites tendered by So. Omaha American Legion Post #331. A lunch will follow at Queen of the Apostles Parish Hall. The family will direct memorials.
