HENRY MILLER Obituary


MILLER, Henry James Jr., born February 24, 1930, went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by Harriet S. Miller, his devoted wife of 57 years. He is survived by his three children, Cynthia Miller Cummings (Robert Cummings), Henry James Miller III and Amy Miller Bordi (Mark Bordi). He was the proud grandfather to seven, Joseph Wade, Matthew Wade, Adam Miller, Logan Miller, Marissa Bondi, Jackson Bondi and Trevor Bondi; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Wade and Trenton Wade. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served his country in the U.S. Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. Henry was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9808 and the Richmond Council of the Navy League, serving as the president for two years. He retired from the Continental Insurance Companies as a commercial manager. His faithful devotion to his family and his church were hallmarks of his life. He was a member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, 5351 Pole Green Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
