CHISHOLM, John Reinhardt, age 84, of Glen Allen, died March 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Vilma Luck Chisholm. He is survived by his son, Stuart Reinhardt Chisholm; a daughter, Sylvia Page Chisholm; and one grandson, John Donald Lloyd. He was a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Ashland, Va. John served four years in the Navy, with 32 months on the cruiser USS Portsmouth. After being discharged from the Navy, he attended and earned a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Richmond. He worked as a part-time printer and messenger for the A & P Administration office while attending the university. He became full-time with A & P in 1953, and worked for A & P for 38 years. The last 16 years, he served as financial controller for the Richmond Division. After retiring from A & P, he established an income tax preparation business, which he owned and operated until 2010. He was a member of the American Legion, Glen Allen Post 244, and served as commander for one year. John was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Glen Allen Post 10657. He was a member of Hunton Baptist Church for over 65 years and he held numerous church positions in his younger days. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Hunton Baptist Church. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hunton Baptist Church Building Fund, 10660 Greenwood Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059.
