John A. "Chuck" Becker Obituary


Becker, John A. "Chuck" Age 86 of Roseville; formerly of New Ulm, MN passed away October 5, 2013. Born in 1926 in Hartford, WI to John Alfred and Eileen Esser Becker. US Army 1944-86, enlisted as a high school senior, Veteran of WWII and Korean War, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Graduate of Marquette (Milwaukee) University in 1950 and Army Command General Staff College in 1973. Retired claims adjustor for Secura Insurance of Appleton, WI having covered southern MN from 1957-92. Member of New Ulm American Legion Post #132 and VFW Post #1648, served as New Ulm Auxiliary Police, Cub Scout Pack Master, Knights of Columbus, NU Human Rights Commission, Meals on Wheels. Preceded in death by wife, Maureen, 2004, one month shy of their 50th wedding anniversary; sons, Frank, 1973, and Jim, 2013; sister, Ann Hayes. Survived by children, John (Sheila), Jean (Michael), Barbara, Mary (Ricardo) and Bob (Laura); daughter- in-law, Barb Kline Becker; grandchildren, Riley, Ian, Jane, Kathleen, Hector, Ruby and Zack; other relatives and many friends. Special thanks to the caring staff of Interim Hospice. We will always remember him as our Pride and Joy, a master of puns with a great smile.
