WILLIAM HARMAN HARDY Obituary


HARDY, William Harman, 92, of Victoria, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was the son of the late Maurice Tisdale Hardy and Lillian Harman Hardy; and was the father of the late Lydia Hardy. He is survived by his wife, Constance Morris Hardy; children, Dwight Hardy (Annie) of Richmond, Greg Hardy (Cecily) of Manson, N.C., Janice Thompson (Jerry) of Ebony and Steve Hardy (Catherine) of Iva, S.C.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Harman was a member of VFW Post 9954, served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a P.O.W. and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a founding and active member of Northside Gospel Chapel in Victoria and a member of The Gideons International. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Victoria Christian Church, Victoria, with interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria.
