Charles W. Simmons Jr. Obituary


Charles W. Simmons, Jr., age 70, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Joan B. (Connors) Simmons. Born in Fall River, son of the late Diamantina (Costa) and Victor Robillard. He was a 1961 graduate of Somerset High School. Veteran of the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a systems operator for NSTAR Electric before retiring, and was a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association). He was an avid Red Sox fan, bowler and golf enthusiast. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Christine Souza of Fall River, Kerri Simmons-Baptiste & wife Karlene of AZ, two sons Charles Simmons, III of Somerset and Craig Simmons & wife Jodi of Fall River; and his brother, Mark Robillard of PA; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, as well as his long time furry companion Max. He was also the father of the late Lori Manchester and brother of the late Barbara Lamb and Denise Oriani. Charlies' funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 9:00AM from the BOULE FUNERAL HOME, 615 Broadway, Fall River, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Avenue, Somerset, MA. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
