JORDAN, Ira "Billy" "Bill" Cecil, 77, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, Va. He was born November 28, 1935, and raised in Varina, Va., the son of Ira Franklin Jordan and Elsie May Jordan. He was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, Lynn Haven, Fla. As a young man, he enlisted in the Air Force as a radar technician. He retired after 20 years of honorable service, including serving during the Vietnam War. He later retired as a maintenance supervisor for Miracle Strip Amusement Park, Panama City Beach, Fla. He enjoyed the occasional Pilsner beer, was an accomplished handyman and was a true romantic gentleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gaynelle Jordan, to whom he was extremely devoted; and six brothers and sisters, Iris, Eldridge, Christine, Gertrude, Violet and Rayton. Ira is survived by his second wife, Elizabeth Shearin Jordan of Varina, Va.; his last remaining sibling, Ruby Kellie of Colonial Heights, Va; daughter, Sandy Jordan Jewell, wife of Brian Jewell; sons, Tim Jordan and Randy Jordan; his beloved and only grandchild, Brandy Perdue; and three great- grandchildren, Tayte, Zachery and Autumn Perdue. A memorial service was held at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church in Varina, Va., (near Richmond) at 10 a.m. March 23, 2013. An additional memorial service for friends and family will be held at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, Lynn Haven, Fla., on March 30, 2013, with time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Four Mile Creek Baptist Church in Varina, Va., Lynn Haven Methodist Church, Lynn Haven, Fla., The Boys and Girls Club of Bay County or Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Panama City, Fla.
