This site is dedicated to the Allies and those they sought to protect – the troops who bravely served their countries, Holocaust victims who endured and survived against all odds, and all the men and women who helped to ensure the legacy of “The Greatest Generation.”

Remembering the lives and legacies of WWII veterans

Raymond E. Monty, 72 of Sturgis, passed away May 24, 2019 in Portage after battling cancer. Ray was born in Detroit on October 5, 1946, a son of Raymond and Irene (Reed) Monty. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1964 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. After receiving an honorable discharge, he worked in many different trades in several states, before moving his family to Michigan in 1990.
