January 18, 2016 "I have been a Giant fan since I was a kid & I still am. I loved Mays, but Monte was my only real idol. I spoke to him and told him how lucky I was to speak to my childhood idol.

He loved to talk baseball & sounded like a kid. He was a great athlete, but most of all-a true gentleman. I will miss him.
